Uncle Bobby at the White House



So here's an old man singing a young man's song and doing it brilliantly. It was at the V Festival in 1995 when he did a lovely, weary version of 'I Want You' and I realised just how well he was going to age into his songs - and knew everything was going to be all right. And shortly after we got Time Out Of Mind...

    Apparently it was Phoenix not V - but that just tells you what a soulless, identikit festival it was - we arrived about 5.00 - missed The Fall, saw Bob and Van Morrison, and had left by 9.00.
